We all know hydration and nutrition are essential for living a healthy, happy life. But is your office watercooler enough for your employees? Absorption limitations during the digestive process may cause some people to miss out on essential vitamins and minerals. If you’re looking for an all-natural employee pick-me-up, consider getting IV therapy for your office.

What Is IV Therapy?

Intravenous fluid hydration therapy is a process where a trained professional transfers vitamins, minerals or medications directly into the bloodstream by connecting a catheter to a vein. It’s the fastest way to rehydrate and deliver vital nutrients to your body. Since this process is so efficient and effective, it’s an excellent treatment for symptoms from:

  • Hangovers
  • Overexertion
  • Immunodeficiencies
  • Colds and cases of the flu
  • Pregnancy
  • Migraines and other headaches

For a long time, IV therapy has only been available in medical facilities or from hired home nurses for patients in dire need of hydration. But in recent years, more people have started recognizing IV therapy’s positive effects in their day-to-day lives. To conveniently meet this rising demand, we offer mobile IV services to deliver people the treatment they need wherever they are, including their workplace.

What Is In-Office IV Therapy?

In administering in-office IV therapy, we will send a registered nurse to your office whenever you choose. Individual employees might schedule this service, or you could order it as a perk to cover multiple people in group IV therapy sessions.

When the nurse arrives to provide the therapy, they’ll start by walking you through the process. Then, the health provider will:

  • Wait for you to sit somewhere comfortable while receiving treatment.
  • Disinfect the injection site on your arm.
  • Insert the IV via a needle connected to a catheter.
  • Remove the needle and tape down the catheter to prevent it from moving.
  • Verify that the pump has the correct delivery rate.

The therapy session can take approximately 45 minutes to an hour, so once treatment begins, you can relax and work on your laptop, read a book or watch your favorite streaming entertainment service.

Why Get a Mobile IV at Work?

Why Get a Mobile IV at Work?

You can probably remember times where you weren’t feeling your best during the workday. Your nagging symptoms could be from a cold, a painful migraine, overdoing it at the gym or even having too much to drink the night before. These issues are more common among employees than you might think. As a company leader, it’s essential to show your workers you care about them, especially when they aren’t feeling 100%.

While most employers hope their employees aren’t showing up to work hungover, a 2019 study conducted by the Delphi Behavioral Health Group found the opposite. From the survey they administered to over 1,000 full-time employees, they found that:

  • The average employee uses two sick days a year due to hangovers.
  • 75% of these employees admitted to going to work hungover.
  • The average employee claims to get five hours of work done in a typical eight-hour workday.
  • 46.3% of employees said they would pretend to work when hungover.
  • 46% of them used the bathroom an excessive amount of times due to their hangover.
  • 19% had napped at work.
  • 39% of these employees made a mistake as a result of their hangover.
  • 10% of them missed critical deadlines.
  • 5% faced injury as a result of working hungover.

Colds are even more common in the workplace, with 90% of employees admitting to coming to work sick in a different 2019 survey. Of these same respondents, 54% said they came to work because they didn’t want to fall behind on their responsibilities, and another 40% reported that they didn’t want to waste their use of sick days. Sick workers who come to the office will probably come into contact with immunocompromised colleagues, since people with weakened immune systems make up nearly 3% of the U.S. adult population. With these statistics, it’s clear that colds and cases of flu act as constant threats to the office.

Migraines are another significant influence on many employees’ work life, as evidenced by one study estimating over 45 million Americans suffer from migraines. The prevalence of migraines in the workplace has cost American employers at least $13 billion each year due to lost productivity. These same employees are also likely on average to miss 4.4 days of work annually because of their migraines.

Heavy drinkers, immunocompromised people and those with colds and migraines aren’t the only employees who can benefit from the IV drips. Pregnant people are increasingly likely to continue working up until their due date. With the many uncomfortable symptoms these pregnant employees are facing, the option of receiving in-office IV therapy from a professional without having to leave work could mean a lot to them.
